The Lincoln Electric System (LES) Administrative Board approved the $272.6

During that time, service will be extended to 10,800 new customers, while
increasing service to 1,200 customers. It is projected the number of customers
served by LES will be approximately 141,000, served by 828,000 kilowatts (kW).
In the next six years, LES will serve an estimated 64,000 kW of new electric

LES is participating to attract Google high-speed fiber network to Lincoln
LES has joined with the City of Lincoln to land Google's high-speed Internet
experiment in Lincoln.
Mayor Chris Beutler announced Thursday that Lincoln was applying for the
Google Fiber for Communities. Google says it will choose one or more locations
across the United States to test broadband networks that will deliver Internet
speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have now, the
Lincoln Journal Star reported.
"This presents tremendous opportunities for economic development,
entertainment, entrepreneurship and education," Beutler said in a news
release. "Lincoln has the size, geography, diversity, existing fiber,
technology, partners and attitude to make Google's high-speed goals a
reality."
LES is part of a group of business and technology leaders that will work on
Lincoln's bid.
You are urged to visit
www.Lnkup.org to learn more about Lincoln’s efforts and join the City’s
Facebook page or contact Google directly. More information is also available

Lincoln has until March 26 to complete its application.
