Supply chain concerns continue to be felt across many industries, including electric utilities. Lincoln Electric System uses a variety of utility-grade materials daily to build and renew infrastructure in our service territory. LES, like many utilities, has experienced extended delays and longer lead times required on many types of equipment needed to serve our new and existing customers.
LES began proactive practices to address supply chain issues over 18 months ago. The team restructured reorder points for many critical materials in anticipation of future delays. We also challenged our work groups to develop alternate solutions to utilize existing materials when possible. These planning efforts have allowed LES to continue providing reliable power to both existing and new customers.
Watch the video below for supply chain updates, including mitigation strategies to allow for continued electrical support in new growth areas.
Project requests
As an industry partner, LES recognizes you are likely facing many of these same challenges in your business. By working together, we can better anticipate equipment needs. As projects arise, we ask that you notify LES of your project early in the planning stage and communicate throughout the project on any timeline changes. Early notification will assist our teams with design requirements, and realistic scheduling will help us manage inventory, both in stock and on order.
